The following constitutes our firm's mission statement, and is taken from the materials given to every employee.
We are an Information and Peace of Mind Business!
Remember, we owe our clients our very best efforts! This includes:
Reports On Time! - All the Time!
Our Business Philosophy
We are an Information and Peace of Mind Business! Each day both our Individual Taxpayer and Small Business Owner clients make dozens of management decisions. Most of those decisions have some sort of an Economic Consequence - in other words, the client is going to have more or less money either come into or go out of their net worth or business due to each of those decisions.
Our job is to "keep score," then help the client:
(1) Understand the consequences of their personal and/or business management decisions and
(2) Learn to manage their personal and/or business affairs more effectively and more profitably.
While we may prepare tax returns, bank reconciliations, payroll checks, financial reports or other printed information for our clients, those are not our primary services or products. The primary product we provide to our clients is information about their lives and businesses and the peace of mind it brings - not the paper we send to them.
Our clients have the right to receive our very best efforts. We believe that includes:
Reports On Time! - All the Time! - After receipt of the final client information Client Tax Returns our target for completion awaiting client signature is three working weekdays; our target for completion of financial statements is ten working days.
Accuracy! - If clients incur penalties or late fees because of errors in the work we do, we will cover them. We believe our work should be the best in town, and to that end we have an extensive review system in all product lines to prevent errors. .
Training! - If our clients knew how and/or wanted to be tax preparers or bookkeepers, they wouldn't need us. They are players in their own game of life â our role is, in part, that of a coach and trainer. Training them to be more effective in their day-to-day activities will help them be better organized and will pay off both in the quality of the information we receive from them and in achieving their goals. Their success is something that we should regard as our own.
Tax Preparation -- in preparing tax returns client training can
(1) Correct recordkeeping
(2) Importance and technique of diversifying income,
(3) Importance and technique of controlling expenses and
(4) Awareness of situations where advance counsel is
(5) The need to make short, medium and long term plans.
Business Services -- in the business services area client
training can include
(1) How to code checks or credit card payments,
(2) How to use 21st Century technology in their business systems,
(3) How to read, understand, and/or act on the financial statements, bank reconcil-iations and other information we send them,
(4) How or when to send their information to us and
(5) How to stay abreast and in compliance with the myriad government regulations.
Some clients will accept and benefit from this training - some may never learn - But we will keep on trying to trainin all of them anyway. That's what we do!
Privacy! - We deal with confidential information on a daily basis. We respect the need for that confidentiality and we don't disclose any of this information to anyone without prior consent, unless law requires that disclosure.
Service! It's what our clients expect; it's what we must strive and desire to give. Doing it demands that we each make client satisfaction a priority, not just an affirmation. We must return phone calls, take ownership of issues, follow up and give progress reports, and keep going until we are absolutely sure there is nothing more to be done.
We believe in working as a team and helping each member of our team get their work done. But we each must take ownership and responsibility for the completion of our own client work. If we each do our work right, we will all be rewarded by long-standing and profitable client.
